Preamble: Foundations - Sleep, Diet, Exercise, Mindset

Start with the Source.

  • Imagine for a second your well being, the quality of your life and your inner state for the entirety of your life.
  • True vitality, well being, longevity, peace with yourself, living a life of meaning, managing stress anxiety, depression, healing, personal growth, heck even gym gains!.... all are a byproduct of the foundations of sleep, diet, exercise and mindset.  Money, relationships, all other things will come from this.
  • For the sake of simplicity your inner state is the result of a 90 day moving average of these foundational factors.
  • Most people are operating on fumes and at a fraction of their true vitality, potential and synergy  with themselves -both physically and mentally.
  • If your not measuring these you may not realize how bad you are at them.
  • Finally, sometimes you can't change the world but you can change your mindset and internal state.  


If done with intention and understanding of their many nuance they are the source and foundations for everything else.  I have found that if you master these a lot of the higher level problems go away as a consequence:


  • You will have a flexible open minded with a worldview that is calibrated to reality
  • You will begin to collect and prioritize good ideas on how to meaningfully change your life
  • You will know how to apply wisdom to select which ideas to focus on
  • You will have the energy to execute on those ideas
  • You will have an underlying understanding of how to execute 
  • OR you will know how to effectively acquire relevant skill sets as you go  
  • You will have an understanding of your own underlying nature and how to manage yourself
  • As a consequence of the above you will have BELIEF and CONVICTION in your execution  


Alternately a lot of the higher level problems such as (anxiety, depression, disease, fatigue, confusion, frustration, brain fog, unnecessary suffering) never rear their ugly head in the first place because you got ride of the things that could create them.

I want to call out that this is not a overnight thing.  It is a lifetime pursuit and you will never be perfect, but you can get better and you will feel like you have tools to deal with life.


A human being just like everything else in this universe you have a nature. The better you understand your nature and the nature of the world around you the more you can use it to create meaningful change.  



You are born as a slave to your nature.  But as human beings we are amazing enough to be able to understand ourselves and connect our conscious thinking brain to start to use our patterns in our behavior to change ourselves.  


Most people live with little intention and no choice repeating the same negative patterns, over and over.  They do not even see the patters.  They do not acknowledge the causal nature of the universe.  Most people do not have control over their lives.  They do not take intention in their living and so are a slave to their nature as a consequence.  Experiencing life like this can itself be painful.  It feels like you have no control.


There is an amazing amount of nuance to each foundational pillar and a lot of pitfalls you can make which will dramatically hold back your full potential.
